Now that we are adding more and more products, it is getting confusing when viewing questions for all products, as is the default. We should add some indicator as to which topic and product a question is marked for in the question forum.

I think this would be pretty easy to add, 1pt.

Screenshot of my idea for the UI for this. This icons are a little gross because I'm letting the browser downscale them. I'm going to see if I can make them a little prettier.

Do we want to get special 16x16 images made for this? Most of the icons look ok, but the mobile and firefox-os ones are kind of hard to distinguish. I'm not too worried, since it is right next to a textual label.

This looks good to me however, I don't know if I find the topic beside the product useful though. I'd rather be told just the product.

Hmm, there's no way to separate product and topic? That is have the product icon on the top and topic in the tags? Am I asking for too much :D?

It's possible. It's just software after all.

However... Topics are intrinsically linked to Products. The Topics for Firefox are not the same as the Topics for Thunderbird, for example. I wanted to indicate this by keeping those UI elements together. Additionally, clicking on the topic filters by both product and by topic (since topics are linked to one product). I think separating these two elements makes this relationship unclear.

So, yes. It is possible. I don't think it is a good idea.

Should I separate the product and topic, and put the product where it was in the first version, and the topic where it was in the second?

I don't hold a strong opinion. Nor have I used sumo that much to suggest what's best for all.  So I rescind my previously stated preference :)   HTH

I personally liked the first one better as we need to know what the product is before getting to the user's issue. Therefore, if we had the product/topic info moved to the bottom, it creates the need to look at the bottom of the question then back at top for question title.

I am told that madalina is on PTO for a while, and I'd like to finish this during the 2014.5 sprint, so I'm landing my first proposal now.

We had some problems with the webheads shortly after I deployed this change. I'm not sure it was related, but I rolled this back until we figure out what happened.
