Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140212131424
Steps to reproduce:
Firefox 27.0.1 on OS X 10.9
Opened page in new tab, closed the new tab after page completely loaded.
Actual results:
History > Recently Closed Tabs are still empty and inactive.
Cmd+Shift+T does nothing
However, closed pages are available in history
Expected results:
Closed tab should appear in History > Recently Closed
Cmd+Shift+T should reopen last closed tab

I also experienced this problem just now. Many others have experienced this issue here:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/983418
Google appears to turn up a few other results.
My User Agent: "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0"
THe final workaround of clearing history and restarting firefox worked for me.

I couldn't manage to reproduce this issue. Since the bug was a long time ago, most likely isn't reproducible anymore for the reporter also.
