When using non-classic Windows XP themes, the left and right edges of the tab strip don't match the native window underneath. This happens with all modern themes, but it is particularly jarring with the silver theme (see attachment)
Bug 590945 is the proper fix, but seems highly unlikely we will fix it (or want to take it) this late. So current plan is to figure out if we can tweak the existing design to make things look better, or if we just have to live with it.

Without that fix there isn't really a lot of tweaking we can do to fix this short of changing the design entirely for Windows XP.

M- per comment #2.
Whiteboard: [Australis:P3+] → [Australis:P3+][Australis:M-]
Summary: Tab strip gradient doesn't match the window edges on Windows XP → Title bar gradient doesn't match the window edges on Windows XP
At this point I don't see us investing any significant effort on XP styling.
