From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.3+) Gecko/20010831
BuildID: 20010831
I am simply not allowed into this site with Mozilla. There was a time (around
0.8, though I'm not sure) when mozilla worked with this site. It hasn't
recently. Netscape 4.x has always worked with the site. I will attach the html
error page as it will be impossible for those without firstunion accounts (and
bill pay service) to get to the page.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get First Union regular and Bill Pay account.
2. Go to URL above.
3. You will not be able to log in.
Actual Results: I am redirected to a page that says "You attempted to access
this service in an incorrect manner."
Expected Results: Page loads up without problems.
This may be an encryption issue, as when I originally signed up for the service
I was required to get a browser which supports 128-bit encryption. Perhaps this
encryption is not included by default in the nightly builds.

A more interesting page will be to attach the HTML of the page that you get
right before the page you attached.
Also, if you change your user-agent string does it work OK? I have a feeling
this is an evangelism issue..
There are multiple pages that show up in the sequence of redirections that
eventually lead to the error page (first attachment). By hitting "Stop" in the
middle of this process, I have attempted to attach the ones I can find.
I would think this is evangelism, except that this works fine with 4.x, AND
mozilla worked fine before, albeit very slowly. Something changed in the
meantime, either in the browser or the site, to cause this to fail.
I would test against a different id string, but I do not know how to masquerade
as a netscape 4.x agent, I do not see a UI for it.

Summary: First Union's "Bill Pay" Service does not work with mozilla browser. → firstunion.com - "Bill Pay" Service does not work with mozilla browser.
Exact same behavior observed when user agent changed by adding following line
into prefs.js:
user_pref("general.useragent.override", "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5;
Windows 98; Win 9x 4.90; COM+ 1.0.2204)");
I think it may be encryption related. Netscape will not work unless it is the
version with 128 bit encryption. Does Mozilla have 128 bit encryption as the
default?

The problem may be with site www.mybills.com rather than firstunion.com.
Also, the First Union/MyBills online billpay still works with Mozilla0.9.1
(2001060713) on Linux. It fails with Mozilla0.9.5 and Mozilla0.9.7. First
Union online banking (accounts & activity view) is working.
The problem may be with this URL (snam numbers eliminated):
https://www.mybills.com/firstunion/WBP/getlogin.cgi?snam=L&pword=Object0S&logoutURL=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.firstunion.com%2Fosh%2FBillPayReturnHome.html
In my history I see this identical URL accessed on both Mozilla0.9.1 and 0.9.7.
Mozilla0.9.7 fails to load the mybills.com site successfully. Instead it
returns the error page shown in the first attachment, error FBP.126
BTW, do not try to type in the URL
https://www.firstunion.com/onlinebanking/cgi-bin/FunbOLB.cgi directly. You'll
probably get an error FOLBC.2730, I think this is expected behavior. The
bill-pay error is FBP.126.

*** Bug 138621 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Tim Jowers wrote on n.p.m.general that "[...]Some time ago as the bug is,
according to FU, simply that Mozilla (and NSCP 7) try to bookmark secure
pages.[...]". Does anyone know for sure if this bookmarking capability is the
reason FU is blocking us, or is it a technical issue?

I think Tim Jowers was referring to the message in the first attachment of this
bug. He misread that message. It actually means (the website thinks) you
attempted to access a page that is available only if you logged in.

Bill Pay functionality appears to be working with build 2002101612 on Windows.
Previously, this problem was replicable on both Windows and Linux, probably Mac
as well. Thus OS has been changed to ALL.
It may have been an evangelism issue, because I was able to access BillPay after
using Konqueror to set the user agent to masquerade as IE on Windows. But now
the problem has gone away, at least temporarily.
