I installed flash (from the latest of the archived versions) and tried to watch a video on yoube mobile. But when I do that a blank screen is displayed.

Steps to reproduce:
Install flash (if you don:'t have it)
Go to YouTube mobile.
Play a video

Expected result:
Video plays

Actual result:
A blank screen is shown

Quriously when I switch to the desktop site video works just fine.
Does your device have a native YouTube application installed? E.g, some custom Android ROMS's don't bundle Google Applications, of which that typically requires the user to download YouTube from Google Play.

We currently rely on having YouTube installed so we pass the ability to play YouTube videos natively in their application when you access the mobile version of YouTube.

There is a bug on file for the rare case where an Android device doesn't have YouTube installed.
I'd be curious if that matches your case here.

Well I do in fact don't have YouTube app installed in my phone, technically.
I disabled it (It comes inbuilt in the phone) to save space my limited internal memory.

I do have a question though.

Why are we relying on YouTube being installed in our users phones?

It would seems strange then for users with out it or who happen to have it disabled to be meet with a blank screen.

At the time, the YouTube application provided a superior experience during our browser re-write a few years ago.
