This avoids frustrations that blassey has been seeing due to Emacs writing temp files into the res directory, such as:
(res/layout/#tabs_item_row.xml#: Invalid file name: must contain only [a-z0-9_.])
We'll need to do this for the manual aapt invocations in mobile/android/base, and for the invocations in config/makefiles/java-build.mk.
