console messages from scripts attached to content managed through ui/frame objects don't show up in the terminal. Here's an example add-on: https://gist.github.com/wbamberg/9497337. Clicking the button gives you no output in terminal. You can see it in the Browser Console though.
This is true for panels, page-workers, and all other add-on content.
