Commit messages contain bug IDs, e.g. http://git.mozilla.org/?p=bugzilla/bugzilla.git;a=commit;h=14297c3f99da39acf42f359247f68f754da03fca [github] but there is no way to click on them from git to be redirected to the corresponding bugs on bmo. This is painful. For comparison, both bzr http://bzr.mozilla.org/bugzilla/trunk/revision/8955 and CVS http://bonsai.mozilla.org/cvsquery.cgi?mindate=2014-03-08+15:00&module=Bugzilla&sortby=Date&date=explicit linkify bug IDs. Implementing this feature would make our life much easier.
Ugh. Gitweb is right in line with git for making this non-trivial. No templates at all, it's all built right into the perl cgi. Someone presented patches for exactly this in 2009, but it appears to have gone nowhere.
per :fubar's comment above, there was a patch proposed years ago which hasn't had any uptake. we triaged this as a group today and decided this is not something that provide critical impact to the business. marking this as r/wontfix.
