Steps to reproduce:

I have an Linux Mint Petra (i.e. Ubuntu Saucy) on a desktop with intel X4500 integrated graphics (G41).
I installed Google Hangout plugin in firefox and tried to make a call.

Some details: I've tried with Mint's (Ubuntu's) stock browser as well as 'nightly' builds and I see exactly same effect. I've tried Chromium on the same box - there is no flickering at all. Skype doesn't have any issues on that box as well (this might not be relevant though). I have a (different) laptop with HD Graphics 4000 (IvyBridge) and same OS and FF versions have no issues with Google hangout on it.


Actual results:

The audio is fine, but the video is blanking/flickering.
If I do not move the mouse the hangout window is black most of the time with video appearing very briefly.
If I constantly move the mouse I see video almost constantly (and it 'moves', not a static picture, but it still flickers some times), but it is kind of hard to have a call and move mouse all the time.


Expected results:

I should see normal, not blinking video.

Please check if the issue occurs using Firefox in safe mode (with your addons disabled):

It looks like some change in Intel drivers for xorg actually resolved this issue for me.
