Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140212131424

Steps to reproduce:

It would be nice to be able to test small portions of an add-on directly from the scratchpad, much like Irakli Gozalishvili's now-defunct scratch-kit [https://github.com/Gozala/scratch-kit/]. Either require should work directly in the Content Environment, or a third environment should be added for add-ons.

We're about to ship add-on debugger, which would allow users to set breakpoints in add-on code and do all kinds of cool stuff.

We'll be improving it over time & for example enable console and scratchpad for the add-on context, which will in practice be whatever scratch-kit is.

William if you'd like to help out with some of this work we'd be more then happy!

Thanks for the offer, Irakli. I would definitely like to give back to the Mozilla community at some point (I do try to answer StackOverflow questions), but my schedule doesn't allow it these days.
