Form Autofill profile stores a user’s contact details (listed below in the next comment) when they enter it a form. 

When users enter & submit contact details in a form, Firefox provides them a choice to save it (using a door hanger). If the user chooses to save, provide feedback (using a toast notification) letting them know that the profile is saved and provide an option to view the saved profile under settings.

When some fields are missing, we still go ahead and save it without any warnings. We offer to save the contact details only when a form is submitted successfully to reduce potential errors in the data.

I will post an update on the set of fields to be saved after checking with Sevaan, who is working on desktop form autofill designs and bnicholson. For now, we know that we would like the fields for the contact details to match Google request Autocomplete [see Bug 762298].
