User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140317233948 Steps to reproduce: I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I open firefox and go to mail.google.com and enter my login name and password Actual results: It opens the page listing the emails and as it goes to the bottom left part of the page where I have the contacts it crashes. Expected results: It should have finished filling up the contacts list and nothing more. I ran firefox from the terminal : firefox -safe-mode >& firefox_safe_mode.txt that I'm attaching here. Thanks.
I just deleted my profile and started in safe mode from a terminal. Onced open, I went to gmail and after a while crashed again. One more piece of information: the problem does not occur if I use the simple html mode.
Today I upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04LTS to the newest 14.04LTS. When I go to gmail it keeps crashing. I uninstalled completely firefox (configuration files too) and re-installed. Still the same problem. I can't believe that there aren't other people with this problem.
Today I ran gdb on firefox ('firefox -g'), and got the following output when I attempted to open gmail: GNU gdb (Ubuntu 7.7-0ubuntu3) 7.7 Copyright (C) 2014 Free Software Foundation, Inc. Is this still an issue? Sorry about the inconvenience it caused. The next steps to troubleshoot this could be: - disable plugins via Tools -> Add-ons (they are not disabled in safe mode, and you seem to have non-standard ones, like google talk) - check with a build from mozilla.org and see if you can submit a crash report. If you can, post its ID here - check if it's just Gmail. Do other https sites work? - if nothing else helps, try a building a debug build; gdb output on a release build is rarely helpful.
