RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 385951

(Reporter: sworddragon2, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140317144912

Steps to reproduce:

1. Visit a website for which you have stored a password which is protected with a master password.
2. On the appearing "Password Required" dialog click on Cancel.
3. Continue surfing on the site.

Actual results:

The "Password Required" dialog will always appear if it encounters the login field which can get annoying.

Expected results:

For example maybe Firefox can provide an option that does never summon the "Password Required" dialog directly. Instead there could be a button in the navigation bar that does some sort of blinking if the "Password Required" dialog would normally appear. The user must then click this symbol to summon the "Password Required" dialog. This way the user could surf on a website without beeing annoyed by an intrusive dialog if not entering the master password. This has also a nice side-effect: It is more difficult for websites to fake a "Password Required" dialog to steal the master passwords of the users.
