AFAIK, email support is not in 1.3 scope.

Sending to email is not in 1.3 scope for sure, but shouldn't receiving a MMS sent by email work? I know we can receive messages from non-number senders, why receiving with an "email" sender doesn't work?

That said I don't know how to try it myself.

Would we have the RIL logs when that's happening?

I am wondering if we already support to 
1. decode incoming MMS message where the FROM value is an email address and 
2. saving it into the database.

I'll review the implementation and try to reproduce this locally with log enabled 
to see what really happened.

After some testing, I can't even receive a WAP Push from network after I locally sent/replied a MMS message to my phone number.

Hi reporter,

Would you please help to collect the adb log with the attached script to capture ril/mms related logs?
You will see |MmsService| if the logs are correctly capture.

This issue does not reproduce on Buri 1.3 MOZ RIL

The message client received a message with a picture attached sent from an email address (gmail) to the phone's mms email, [e-mail], with no issue.

We didn't see any mms related logs in the attachment.
Furthermore, we didn't see any incoming SMS from 
RIL which presents raw PDUs of a MMS notification for downloading.

From comment 9 and comment 10 and the log in comment 13,
So far, we didn't see any problem in the client side.

Can other reference phone with the same test SIM 
receive the MMS sent from other email-client?

The Chinese means: If you just only reply words in the email, you will received a sms in your mobile phone with its sender being a phone number but not an email address.

It sounds not like a device issue and the received message is an sms instead of mms 
which is not the same to the topic we discuss in this bug about 
the receiving of mms from e-mail client.

I didn't see any incoming SMS from the log presenting a SMS or a MMS notification from both log.
No idea what to compare in v1.1 and v1.3.
What's the behaviors in v1.1 and v1.3?
