From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.3+) Gecko/20010910 BuildID: 2001091003 The context menu the users gets when right-clicking contains an item called "Open in new window" which is unclear- what gets opened in a new window (after all, no bookmark was selected). When choosing that option, the manage bookmarks window opens. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Right click on a blank spot in the personal bookmark folder 2. Observe the context menu Actual Results: Menu item "Open in new window" is diplayed Expected Results: Menu item should say "Manage bookmarks"

You'd need to look at the event target to see if you were on a bookmark item or not, and use the appropriate text. This probably means you'd need to move the alternatives from a DTD to a properties file. Gerv

Summary: unclear wording in personal bookmark folder context menu → Don't show bookmark shortcut menu in empty part of the Personal Toolbar

I'm tempted to say that this bug is invalid, as it opens your personal toolbar folder in a new window, just as it says. What doesn't work is right-clicking on a folder in your personal toolbar and opening that folder in a new window.

I dunno- I still think the wording is unclear. At least for me, it what not clear exactly what get's opended in a new window, and I am not such a new user of software...

So the wording is bad. How about "Open Window for Folder"?

What about "Manage Bookmarks in this Folder...".

The menu item "Open in new window" for the empty area of the Personal Toolbar was removed with the landing of the new bookmark code.

...and therefore this is fixed by the bookmarks rewrite last year.
