Similar to the issue I filed in Bug 988594.
On a Buri w/ v1.4 there is a similar lag of about 1 - 1.5 seconds.

Nope - bug 937713 only applies to 180 degree rotations.

On a Buri w/ v1.3 there is a similar lag of about 1 seconds or so. Possibly a device limitation?

Triage: Ravi, are we going to ship 2.0 on buri? If so, please nom this.
QA: Does this lag reproduce on other devices?

I was able to reproduce this issue on the Helix and Leo using the 04/18/14 Master build. Both devices took around 1.5 seconds to orientate the image to landscape from portrait and vice versa.
Also, when the images were switching orientation, the devices exhibited the re-sizing issue seen in the linked YouTube video (this is also mentioned in bug 993019). In this issue, when the device is rotated, the images remain in their original orientation and become smaller for a moment, then orientate and become large enough to fit the screen.

Can we also check if this happens on an Open C device running trunk?

Since this is reproducible on other devices than Hamachi, it should be looked at. (For Hamachi, there is no plan for 2.0)
