This will allow us to detect when a user's account has been deleted and can remove her account previously attached to desktop browsers.
Nick, you might want to track this for android, too.

Thanks for the heads up. Am I correct that you are intending to surface UI when the Desktop client discovers that the user's account has been deleted? I'm confused, but going to post to dev-fxacct to discuss this.

No new UI necessarily. When you delete your account, the UI will eventually get into the "you need to reconnect to sync", which is potentially confusing. The proposed behavior is that after a user deletes her account, all attached devices should auto-detach.

"eventually" is the key word here.
I am still waiting in a browser where I deleted my account 15 minutes ago.
I can still sync at this point (which may be a whole different bug).
I can see that I am still signed in, even though I was offered the signin page after deleting the account.
nice.
In Prefs, I deleted everything from the current day's work - history, cache, cookies, etc.
I am still signed in.
I can still sync.
This is all after deleting my account...

This doesn't belong in the "Server: Firefox Accounts" component; do we have a more apprioriate FxA-specific component than "Firefox Sync: Backend"?
Component: Server: Firefox Accounts → Firefox Sync: Backend
This was fixed in Bug 1010623.
