It would be nice if we could allow casting videos to anything that shows up in the MediaRouter interface for Android.

This is a bit of a different interaction than Roku or Chromecast. It requires that the user manually start screen mirroring on the different device, and then also manually cast the video. Right now they can just switch their device to fullscreen video when mirroring and get most of the same effect (although casting allows you to keep browsing while the video plays on the screen, and might allow some fancier things like queuing multiple videos.

This is mostly working. Lots of things to clean up though. Also needs to either import the compat libraries or protect a lot more methods with Android version checks.

I moved most of this into the chromecast bug (901803). I'll mark this dependent. Here's an updated version of this that uses the new interfaces.

None. Still not on the roadmap.
