Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140212131424 Steps to reproduce: getUserMedia permission popup needs an 'Always allow' option. The current behavior is very tedious for an app that makes heavy use of webcam and microphone access. If an user trusts an application, they should be able to select a dropdown and choose 'Always allow', similar with notifications. Privacy impact: The user would need to manually select Always Allow from a dropdown. The user would always be aware when access is being used. There should be minimal privacy impact with substantial usability benefits. Actual results: Permission must be granted each time which is tedious for an app that makes heavy use of webcam and microphone. Expected results: A drop down option that allows the user to always allow, similar to notifications.
Another use case is for frequent access of the webcam tot take pictures. Currently, in Firefox the user must re-authorize permission every single time they want to take a picture. The 'Always Allow' option would allow an user that trusts the website to not seek permission again every time they want to take a picture (which can be many times per minute), while not compromising on default behavior (which is only allow until stopped).

This is implemented in Firefox 30 (currently "Aurora"), see bug 804611. You can try this out using http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/aurora/ or http://nightly.mozilla.org/
