Last night my x-windows session hung ximian gnome 1.4 ...i had updated the gnome
packages and restarted x recently...ctrl-alt-backpsace and such produced no
response. I hit the reset switch and when everything came back up...ALL my
bookmarks, saved data, etc. gone without trace. If other progs exhibited this
behavior then i wouldn't say anything but this happens to be the only one. One
strange note...my homepage is still there.
Reproducible: Didn't try

This sounds to me like some mozillafiles got corrupted when the machine was
turned off without unmounting the filesystem. Not much mozilla can do about that
IMHO.

Please attach your bookmarks.html file and your prefs.js file to the bug. That
might help people fix your problem. They are located in :
~/.mozilla/[RANDOM]/bookmarks.html
and ~/.mozilla/[RANDOM]/prefs.js
Odd notes the preferences were entirely intact, saved passwords are gone, as
well as bookmarks...in the future i guess i'll just backup my bookmarks..eh in
the months it takes to first reassemble them as best i can *sigh of anguish*

methinks this is a dup of bug 98476
Since there was a system crash involved and the files got corrupt, you are
asking for a way to have backups of critical files. Its roundabout, but better
than marking WONTFIX
