It looks like they're doing server side detection. Firefox for Android correctly gets the mobile view (and a session cookie is set), while Firefox OS is served the desktop site (with no session cookie): Response for: 'Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:18.1) Gecko/18.1 Firefox/18.1' Response Status: 200 content-encoding: gzip transfer-encoding: chunked vary: Cookie,Accept-Encoding server: Apache connection: close date: Thu, 10 Apr 2014 18:29:29 GMT content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8 Response for: 'Mozilla/5.0 (Android; Mobile; rv:28.0) Gecko/28.0 Firefox/28.0' Response Status: 200 content-encoding: gzip transfer-encoding: chunked set-cookie: sessionid=78548ad7d8d8984e5489d7418a470f75; expires=Thu, 24-Apr-2014 18:29:29 GMT; httponly; Max-Age=1209600; Path=/ vary: Cookie,Accept-Encoding server: Apache connection: close date: Thu, 10 Apr 2014 18:29:29 GMT content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8 We should ask them to send Firefox OS to the mobile view by default.
