This might also involve removing the menu item altogether and just using the icon.

yep, in comment 1 I pointed out a comment in bug 985659 where I expressed some issues that may rise with such change though, having a solution to that along with the decision here would be nice.

let me sum up comment 1 so we have all in the same bug.
when a page provides multiple feeds and they are not very nicely titled, the current feed submenu ends up reading:
Subscribe to 'PageName - fe...thing'
Subscribe to 'PageName - la...thing'
Subscribe to 'PageName - by...thing'
That is totally useless.
I think removing the Subscribe to (maybe moving it to the top as a label?) and enlarging the menu a little bit could help. Or even making the tooltip more useful, currently it only reports the url, it could be a multiline tooltip with title and url (like the Places entries tooltips)
