Description: Test case https://moztrap.mozilla.org/manage/case/11034/ implies that if the user long presses the HOME button while streaming via RTSP that the "video app" is restored with the stream stopped. The actual result when having followed a link to an RTSP source is the browser page the stream was initiated from restoring instead of the stream itself. Repro Steps: 1) Update a Tarako to BuildID: 20140414004001 2) On the device go to http://goo.gl/dTk3oI (https://rawgit.com/William-Hsu/TestApp_RTSP/master/index.html) 3) Select "AMX test file" 4) Once the stream starts, press and hold the HOME button to enter card view. 5) Return to the card with the RTSP stream. Actual: The browser page with the link is restored. Sometimes the page will refresh or fail to load properly. Expected: The RTSP stream will be restored with the stream paused / stopped. 1.3T Environmental Variables: Device: Tarako 1.3T MOZ BuildID: 20140414004001 Gaia: 0e7f21e61625b75a9149480cd5a259211549f020 Gecko: 3b02811c314a Version: 28.1 Firmware Version: sp6821 Keywords: real time streaming protocol Repro frequency: 100% Link to failed test case: https://moztrap.mozilla.org/manage/case/11034/ See video: http://youtu.be/lTZbp0mlBeo and attached logs

Hi Lionel, I have two comments about this bug. 1. In v1.3, RTSP streaming is being rendered by the (Gaia) video app. When we click an RTSP link, the video app is launched to play the media (you can verify this by executing "adb shell b2g-ps" while the streaming is being played). In early builds, when we enter card view by long pressing the HOME button, we were be able to see both the browser and video apps. The resumption of streaming should be verified by clicking the video app in the card view, not the browser app. However, this behavior seems to be broken in recent builds. The video app is terminated at first when we press the HOME button. It means we have no change to resume the streaming at all. I am not sure about the root cause of this change. But I am sure this will not be an issue in v2.0 any more. RTSP will be rendered in the browser instead of the video app in v2.0. 2. The occasionally crash you see (as in the video in comment 0) might already be fixed in the master branch (we fixed several crashes in RTSP). It means we won't encounter such crash in v2.0.
A typo. (In reply to Ethan Tseng [:ethan] from comment #2) > However, this behavior seems to be broken in recent builds. The video app is > terminated at first when we press the HOME button. It means we have no > change to resume the streaming at all. ^^^^^^ chance
The two points I made in comment 2 both contain something to be further clarified. - I don't know why the video app is killed while entering card view. - I believe the crash is fixed in master but not sure which bug fixed that (because we fixed several crashes). If this bug is not a blocker, I suggest not to toil too much time digging it. These issues will all be eliminated in v2.0. Ken, how do you think?
Flags: needinfo?(kchang)
(In reply to Ethan Tseng [:ethan] from comment #4) > Ken, how do you think? Let's focus on enabling RTSP in browser.
