Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140410150427

Steps to reproduce:

There is a separate bar for the bookmarks by default. However, I have used the Firefox customization option to place the bookmarks next to the address box, in between the menu and the address box on Firefox 29.0. After doing this, I removed the now-empty bookmarks bar, by right clicking the bar and unchecking it. This leaves me with just the address bar that contains the address box, refresh/reload, the bookmarks, and the menu (FF 29.0 UI ).

Actual results:

At random times, when I start my computer and run Firefox, the section where the bookmarks were moved to (next to the address bar) comes up blank. I then have to right click and check / enable the bookmarks bar, to bring them back. Re-enabling the bookmark bar returns the bookmarks to the customized location, and just puts the empty bookmarks bar at the bottom. After disabling the empty bookmarks bar again, the customized location for the bookmarks does not disappear until the next random start-up.

Expected results:

The bookmarks should not disappear on start-up. Rather they should remain there without the need to have the now-empty bookmarks bar.
Component: Untriaged → Toolbars and Customization
This sounds like something (like an add-on...) is breaking the customization. Can you include the contents of about:support, or try to selectively disable some of your add-ons to figure out which one is causing the bookmarks to be put back in the bookmarks toolbar?
Flags: needinfo?(saad.inam92)
None of the add-ons I use seem relate to the customization. They are placed in the new menu, rather than on the bar. No themes are being used either. This issue has occurred for at least 3 pre-29.0 FF versions. I only updated to 29.0 beta from stable a few days ago. The Stable version also had this problem. The about:support information is shown below.
