the chrome page about:sync-tabs loads so slowly that I initally thought the page was broken. Using old sync on win8, but not sure that's relevant.

Page loads fine for me on 29, using new sync. Pretty slow internet connection too, about 10mbps. 2011 Macbook Air on OSX 10.9 Build info: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0 20140421221237

we were seeing slow load times during peak hrs (8am-1pm PST) last week, possible dupe of bug 1008998 . Ops has been moving users off of some of the slower nodes last week. You can use this to get total load time: https://github.com/edmoz/fxa-sync-client
