I just had a nice mozilla crasher while in full screen mode, and my startbar
was completely gone! I was able to to ctrl-esc to get my startmenu, but still
no start bar. The only way I could get a startbar back was to launch mozilla,
put it into full screen mode then come out of full screen mode.
This is pretty bad. If mozilla crashes in fullscreen mode, there must be some
way to retrieve the start bar without an expert being able to do this or
hitting a power button. A newbie might think his computer is completely
unusable now.

I don't think you can say its duplicate, because resolving this bug based on
crash and resolving this bug based on skin problem is a separate issue

Resummarizing.
You're right, sorry about the duplication.
Summary: Full-Screen mode might not give start-bar back → Full-Screen mode does not give start-bar back after crash

Can I nominate this for mozilla 1.1?

The change proposed in bug 195963 will fix this. Setting dependency.
Depends on: 195963

Alright, the dependency has now been fixed for a while. Using Mozilla 1.7b on
Win98se, I went into full screen mode, crashed Mozilla (using the testcase to
bug 235405), and my task bar was fine. Can we now mark this bug as WFM? (if I
don't hear anything in a week, I'll mark it that myself).
