After the upgrade on bmo to 2.17, my Only email me reports of changes made by other people is still checked, however when I make a change (for example, bug 142979, bug 150768) I receive email on the change. I have all other checkboxes checked except for the Cc: list change row, which are unchecked
Yes, this pref is going away. You'll live with it, and like it. Or else!

The problem is a syntax error where "excludemyself" should be "ExcludeMyself".

Is this a local bmo change, or do we need this for 2.16?
This bug was caused by a syntax error in the patch on bug 128469, since fixed. Resolving works-for-me.
