This is a crappy bug number, bliz.
Alias: 1.0.2
Changing to Platform: All, OS: All as I want it to not suck on OS X.
OS: Linux → All
Hardware: PC → All
My nominations are...: bug 32157 [RFE] Title tips (tooltips) for cropped text (probably the biggest UI *blooper* in mozilla) bug 62586 Need Titletips (or tooltips) for Cropped Text in Message Header Pane (the son of mozilla's biggest blooper) bug 91662 Long strings in mail header cause scroll bars and attachment window to disappear, making message unviewable. (very visible bug - second biggest mozilla blooper) bug 92380 Context menu in Personal Toolbar incorrect when Sidebar items selected (have you accidentally deleted an entire *bookmark folder* lately?) bug 73712 Need Win32 and Linux/GTK icon files for each window (we need icons, man) bug 22687 [RFE] PGP Plugin (e-mail "security", pie-in-the-sky?) bug 56052 Support PGP in PSM (long neglected, but much *voted* for)
Peter: please read the comments about PGP on the related bug and on the 1.1 bugs - and stop posting it on every bug (unless it's a "make mozilla 2.0 not suck".
Some excellent suggestions for "popular" bugs (many dupes, CC's or votes) here: bug 163993: [META] Major Mozilla Bugs http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=163993
mentioning bug 146373
Mozilla will have a very hard time as long as Fortune500 companies / major companies worldwide will have to use MSIE ... bug 97284
Nominating the following bugs needed by a major embeddor, early in the 1.0.2 milestone. All, but 1 nomination, have been landed on the trunk and baked for 1 1/2 weeks, and been verified as fixed. bug 155569 | null filename (+ extension) used for downloading files with non-ASCII names bug 161174 | Hotmail Chinese attachment filename is displayed as question marks on download file dialog bug 162377 | Non-ASCII filename is not shown when saving and downloading from a ftp listing bug 1162523 | Java Script doesn't carry over the charset for the url containing non-ascii chars bug 162949 | Line wrapping: suspension points are placed at the beginning of a new line ftang: pls send a request to drivers' , edt and adt for approval to land these patches in the 1.0.2 mielstone.
Nominating bug 125987
Nominating bug 28657: Clicking on <LABEL> doesn't put focus in INPUT field Already fixed in trunk. Resolves issues with WAI guidelines, Section 508.
Bug 153067 [ unable to type text in other applications sometimes when mozilla is running ] Made Mozilla 1.1 suck because you have to basically shut down Mozilla to be able to type in other applications. Due to this also you shut down Mozilla when you want to shut down OTHER apps.
nominating the following bugs, as they are needed by a major embedding customer who will be shipping off the 1.0 branch. bug 14835 No visual indication that you've selected a picture to forward in email (READ) (See also Bugscape 7868) bug 162894 Extend universal detector's coverage to include iso-8859-1 (See also Bugscape 19234) bug 164201 Quoted text in GB18030 gets repeated in reply or forwarded email bug 132759 [HANG]high(100%) cpu usage with Flash: WM_USER+1 events given too high priority and starve UI bug 19636 Embedding Pull Should include XMLExtras bug 164204 Need Level 3 IME Support on winxp for MS PinYin v3 ime bug 163682 FTP download: non-ascii filename is not shown correctly via "Save Link Target As" Additionally ... bug 157144 Painting gets suppressed more than it probably should ... would be a good one to get to allow users to interact with the UI while the page is loading, while preventing the impression of a hang.
Nominating bug 96813, since its fix also fixed the accessibility issue bug 28657 (see comment 11).
(Dumb?!) question: I hope that all checkins for the 1.0-OEM-branch are checked-in into the 1.0.2-branch, too - right ?
Adding bug 168057 ("RFE: Apply fixed and improvements for OEM branch to 1.0.2-branch, too...") to the dependicy list per jesup's permission ("<jesup> (you have my permission to add it to the 1.0.2 not suck bug)") - we should pull most of the fixes&improvements for the OEM-branch into the 1.0.2-branch, too...
Depends on: 168057
Nominating bug 159016 [OSX] Inline IME does not work in composer and text area when the Flash 6 plugin is running, as this is needed by a major embedding customer.
What about the secret bug 90757? "Make mozilla 1.0.1 not suck" depends on it, shouldn't this one as well?
Depends on: 169583
Nominationg bug 145375 - Update google sharlock file to support Unicode. As for the google.src in google.com is already updated to UTF-8 and if this update is included in Moz itself, it helps local shipping, reduces exertions for l10n.
My (updated) nominations are...: bug 91662 Long strings in mail header cause scroll bars and attachment window to disappear, making message unviewable. (the current patch made it worse! see bug 91662 Comment #218) Bug 56301 connect a spellchecker engine for Mozilla (make testing mail/news on a daily basis emberazing for som uf ous) ;) Bug 169638 front end work for spam / junk mail (Sounds Very cool. I'm drowning in SPAM. See Bug 169638 Comment #121) Bug 72493 support threaded, sorted view (this newsgroups hamperer is ready for a beatin')
Nominating (FWIW): bug 113536 tooltips don't handle mousedown event because it sucks so much. I trigger the bug every time I try to open a tab using a contextual menu because the tooltip gets drawn over the second menu item in the contextual menu ("Open Link in New Tab"). Apparently I am pre-disposed to left-clicking the menu item after right-clicking for the contextual menu itself. See my 42nd comment in bug 113536 for details (and a workaround). Note that bug 32157 has already been nominated (which bug 113536 blocks). Also nominating for Mozilla 1.2.
Nominating bug 32571. Has a patch and r+/sr+
As Netscape has released 7.01, which is based on 1.0.2, there are some people wondering where is moz 1.0.2?
Resolving the bug as fixed, since 1.0.2 is out for a while now.
Status: NEW → RESOLVED
Closed: 23 years ago
Resolution: --- → FIXED
Verifying as the fact is pretty obvious.
Status: RESOLVED → VERIFIED
Is there a "make mozilla 1.0.3 not suck" bug?
No. Neither is "make mozilla 1.3beta not suck". It seems Asa dropped the "not" suck idea.
Product: Browser → Seamonkey
