I just noticed today that entering some special characters into AB fields enters
another character instead of the correct one. I'll attach a picture with
examples. I use Mozilla 2002122508 on Windows XP. All locale settings are set to
Slovenian.

Reproducable: always

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Mozilla
2. Open Address Book
3. Add new card to address book
4. Start filling out the fields

What happens:
If you enter some special characters from our keyboard wrong character appears
instead.

What should happen:
Entered characters should appear correctly.
In the filed First there are characters I typed into Notepad and copy&pasted
them here (copy& paste works just fine and characters are shown and save just
fine).
In the field Last there is a list of above characters that are shown when I
type the characters from field First using keyboard.
Note that the eight character produces nothing, just an invisible character.
I'm using build 2003010508 now and this still isn't fixed!
I also see the same problem when trying to enter characters into fields of the
dialog you get if you go to:
Preferences > Navigator > Helper Applications > New Type...
Should I open another bug aboz this?

Using Mozilla 2003011708 on Windows XP Pro.
And all fields of the Mail & Newsgroups account settings dialog also have the
same problem.
I found another place where I see this problem.

If I try to open pages where you have to enter password to view the page you get
a dialog to enter username and password. Well on this dialog I also can't enter
some local/special characters.
I think someone has the same problem as I have. the only difference is that he
is trying to enter hebrew text. Take a look at bug 188704. Maybe these two are
duplicates?
Flags: blocking1.3b?
Not serious enough to hold 1.3beta for.
Flags: blocking1.3b? → blocking1.3b-
Not serious enough for english users but extremely serious for all non english
users.
Did this work in an older release?
It works just fine in Mozilla release 1.2.1 (build 20021130). And it doesn't
work anymore in release 1.3a (build 20021212). So I guess some patch between
these two caused this to stop working right. I will try to find more accurate
nighly builds so that in one it will work and in the next one it doesn't work
anymore.
Just one question. Is there a nightlies archive that goes back so much? If there
is none then I will not be able to check the nighlies out.
