Reassign to sspitzer, marking dogfood due to apparent data loss
I think this may be similar to what daver is seeing in bug
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20608 although daver's bug is on
Win32. ?

No. That bug is mail account, not news account.
Also, this bug not happened on WinNT, WinNT displayed 4 existing news servers
and newsgroup.

Seth, sorry for cannot give you the pref.js file since it had been overwrited
and we do not have good build recently.
By your request, I tried this scenario again on today's Linux latest commercial
build 12-07-15-M12:
All the 4 newserver migrated from 4.7 to 5.0 and display the existing newsgroup
as well. So, it seemed no problem for Linux now....
I will try on today's build for Mac later.....

Verified on yesterday's 12-07-08-M12 build:
I open the same profile again, and this time, all the news server, newsgroup
folders & messages displayed. I don't know why the problem (messages disappear)
displayed yesterday? Seth, do you want me to verify again for today's Mac buid?

It seemed that the Mac build is not stable enough for me to mark verified for
this bug. I am thinking for safe - it's better to verified again for today's
build.....

this bug is really fickle. I haven't seen it yet.
huang is checking to see if this is still happening, and if we can reproduce it,
I'll work on squashing it.

Seth, I am thinking that it will be fine to close this bug since after the
second time I launched, all the 4 news servers with their newsgroups and
messages displayed.
There are problem for bug#21170....just depend on monitoring/fix bugs
for bug#21170 (or bug#20910 maybe happened on Mac) for dogfood for M12/M13....
How's that?
How about Lisa's and Phil's comments?

If I understand correctly, I would not close out the bug because the news
servers don't all display the first time you run. If you want to make the case
that the bug isn't PDT+ anymore because the news servers all display on the
second and subsequent times you run, that's a different thing. Note that bug
21097 received a PDT+, but just barely.

Phil, I already tried the first and 'single' 4.7 profile with multiple news
server/newsgroups. And it did migrate to 5.0 and displayed all the message
header on the thread panes and messages did display in the message body.
I will suggest to narrow down the problem to bug#21097 and dealing with multiple
profiles' problems.

For safe, retesting again on Linux 12-09-10-M12 commercial build.
All the 4 news servers with existing newsgroups & messages all displayed.
Since bug#21097 had been verified yesterday for Mac 12-09-10-M12,
I am trying to verify on Mac again....

I have retested again and agin for today's Linux & Mac 12-10-08 commercial
builds: both are working OK now.
In the meantime, I also verify for bug#21097, it's also working OK now. Since
all these problems have gone...Seth, you can go ahead mark "work for me"
for this bug....so I can mark verified after that!!
