A lot channels have topics with colors in them. In such channel the window title
of chatzilla becomes quite large with all the color control characters in it.
Besides that it is hardly readable.
Example: 8,0| 0,8| 7,8| 8,7| 4,7| 7,4| etc etc etc.

The codes appear also on edit of the topic title

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. join a channel with a topic having colors
2. switch to the newly joined channel, if necessary
3. watch the window title

Actual Results:  
you get a window title with lots of codes like "8,0" in it, most of the time too
long to fit in the windowtitle

Expected Results:  
strip all the color codes and use a clean string only containing the text for
the window title

In version Chatzilla 0.9.54e [Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O;
en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031208] there is a nice setting "Display control
characters" which I turned out and resolved the problem for me.

Chatzilla 0.9.54 is now available and has landed on the trunk (cvs). This should
have resolved this bug; if it has not, please reopen it.
