Using apr26 m16 commercial builds

Logging this as a tracking mechanism for implementation of delete mail message
from the message window.

Currently Delete isn't enabled/doesn't work from menu or toolbar.

When implemented, please explain general implementation rules for delete. If
we're making it like 4.x let us know, if not let us know what's different.

Some basic issues which come to mind are:
-- when deleting message from msg window, deletion reflects in an open 3-pane
window
-- deletion in the message window generally moved to the next message in the
folder whether the "reuse" window pref was on or off
-- side issue (may be needing a separate bug): when deleting a message from
thread pane which was open in standalone message we closed the message window
(not sure if that was dependent on "reuse" setting)

there's the possibility that if delete is implemented it will just display no
message afterwards.

If delete goes to the next msg, the implementation will propably depend on bug
37308.

Personally, I wouldn't find it too bad, if a delete would leave me with an empty
window. I'd find that logical, but people using "Next" a lot will propably
disagree.
we decided that deleting the message in the standalone window would close it.
Likewise if the message is deleted in another window the standalone will also
close.

given that opening windows is so painfully slow (on mac), is there any way that
the next unread mesage could be displayed in the window? purty pleeeze? ;)

if that's totally out of the question, then i agree the window should close when
the message is deleted.

makes sense

Sorry, going to the next one requires an architectural change throughout mail
that I hope we get to make in the next release, but currently the standalone
window has no notion of anything but the current message it's displaying. That's
why I close it. It contains no context for going to the next one.

OK, delete MAIL message from standalone window works: deletes message, closes
standalone window, message deleted/no longer displayed in 3-pane mail window.

OK using:
2000-08-24-08 commercial build linux rh6.0, mac OS 9.0 and NT 4.0
