When editing the rdf files in defaults\isp\en-US
I am unable to create 2 wizards with separate account details but with the same
domain name.

If this line is changed in one of the files, both radio buttons appear in the
first page of the new account wizard.
<NC:nsIMsgAccount about="domain:domainName.com">

If however the domain names are the same in this line, only one radio button
will appear.

Reassigning to module owner and ccing Tao.
Alecf used to own isp setup. CC hime
this is an architectural issue, we may have to change the way that domains are
stored in the ispdata file.
who's 'hime'???
Can we make sure that this has been assigned to the right component and nominated.
Thanks.
it's already assigned to the right component, nominate it yourself if it's that
big a deal by putting an "nsbeta1" keyword.
Msanz/Johng - How important is this to CCK?
Well it immediatly affects us in customising mail and news for the same domain

Adding intl keyword.

Johng - Is there a keyword for Customization???

reassigning to msanz since Varada isn't the correct owner anymore. We probably
need to change the component owner to the correct person.

How often are we going to need to do this? Can you give examples?

Hi, Scott:

This is an isp account setup 'architecture' problem as alecf suggested. Who's
taking alecf's mail/news bug now?

Also, I'd say it is common for an ISP or enterprise customer to have news and
mail servers share the same domain name. I think this is more of a core issue
and it affects US domestic market, too.
Scott, I reassign to you. This is not an international bug that I can see, and
it's a bug in the client.

msanz. It's not an I18N bug but I thought you were managing CCK. Who is the
right CCK engineer to give this bug to?
still hiring, hopefully there will be a name in the next two weeks

Hi, Scott:

As I mentioned earlier, this is a mail account setup problem and
needs to be addressed with messenger code. The feature owner was
alecf. Who in mailnews team owns this feature now?

The function of CCK is to customize client settings instead of changing
client's architecture or core feaures. For example, CCK won't be able
to configurate multiple account setup if the core feature does not exist!
OK, reassigning to racham. Moving to future milestone.

Adding jenm to cc list.
Put it on l12y radar.

Hi, Andrew:

Would you provide the 2 rdf files in question? I'd like to take a look to see if
there is a workaround.

I'm marking nsbeta1+ but I'm not sure what to do with this since there doesn't
appear to be a mozilla0.9.1 milestone which is where I'd like to put this.

Hi Daniel, is it okay for CCK to have the current target milestone?
Hardware: PC → All
Yes, there is a manual workaround.
I meant for this to be 0.9.2. I'll move it, but if it turns out there is a
workaround then maybe we can really keep this in 0.9.3

Daniel, What is the workaround?

Shruti, Please explain the CCK dependency on a fix for this.
It is common for an ISP to have news and mail servers share the same domain
name. Right now in CCK, we are forcing the ISP to use different domain names for
Mail and News which is not an acceptable feature. Also, the UI for the CCK
wizard has 2 domain name fields which may not be necessary.
The workaround was to treat news as a seperate domain and have the user put the
domain sting in themselves.

Is this bug still applicable? Is the CCK still the same?
Reporting that this bug is still live, currently in Thunderbird 2.0.0.14. It is seriously hindering our ability to provide clean email account setups.
The patch in bug 400931 takes care of it...
