Using may09 commercial build Thought there was already a bug about at least Search UI, but couldn't find it... Related bugs: bug 78920, bug 65704 The offline icon/indicator is not functional in Search Messages and Subscribe dialogs. The icon won't toggle, state is not properly transferred from other mail window and there is no tooltip or appropriate status text. If you want these items separated, let me know...

Also not functional in message composition window. Address book window -- icon functional.
Summary: Offline icon not functional in Search, Subscribe → Offline icon not functional in Search, Subscribe, Msg Compose
Aha! It resurfaced -- older bug 74351.

reassigning to ssu. cc'ing Seth. I don't know how hard this is going to be to add to dialogs. If it's hard then we might consider removing it instead of making it functional. The Msg Compose window works fine for me using the 5/25 build. Removing it from the summary.

Well, neither Search nor Subscribe should be dialogs, they should both be windows. Would changing that make this easier?
the offline indicator in the history window is also broken. (I think there's a bug on that problem, as well as a bug on even having an offline indicator in that window.) all three problems are related. when I fixed the offline indicators, I knowningly left these three windows broken. see bug #65704 for all the gory details. to summarize: I wanted to land the fix for the "important" offline indicators (navigator, 3 pane, std alone msg window, msg compose, editor) and then follow up with history, search and subscribe. once we decide if search, history and subscribe should have offline indicators, I can help ssu jump through the hoops to get them to work like the rest.
Why should we even have offline icons for windows that are barely usable without a working connection to the Internet? Can someone tell me why we should have an indicator in subscribe?
moving to 0.9.3
Target Milestone: mozilla0.9.2 → mozilla0.9.3
Searching offline and searching online are supposed to be totally different features. Subscribing while offline should prevent mozilla from wasting the users' time by downloading a new server list. If you try to use an item in the history window while you're online you should get live content whereas if you try to do it while you're offline you should get cached content.
Missed 0.9.3.
Target Milestone: mozilla0.9.3 → mozilla0.9.4

Doing a little cleanup. There couple of bugs all similar to each other (this one and bug 74351). Seth made a more general catch all bug (bug 80970). So I'm going to mark this as dupe of bug 80970 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 80970 ***
