From my own quick testing, sometimes auto-PiP doesn't work. To make things more interesting, the video runs fine if PiP'ed manually and opening a new tab. That said, the video is short enough that we could exclude it from auto-pip, like in Bug 1920097. Once that bug is addressed, auto-pip on Facebook Reels probably won't be an issue anymore.
