Details
Desktop has moved to 3 checkboxes [1]: - Telemetry collection - Firefox Studies - Crash reporter By merging opt-in telemetry to opt-out. We currently have 3 checkboxes (and don't support Studies): - Telemetry collection - Health report - Crash reporter Health report doesn't really exist anymore so the strings are misleading (bug 1244313) but if desktop has removed it, I think we should remove it too. Note that the health report and regular telemetry collection toggles will need to be merged in some way. CC Georg for awareness. I believe we need to start from UX phase for this one. Then need to align with Joe's opinion from Product. ni Jack for it.

Agree with remove the redundant option. But should we have "Learn more" link for the option, similar to "View my Health Report" link? We have it for "Data Collection and Use "in Firefox desktop.

(In reply to Michael Comella (:mcomella) from comment #0) > Desktop has moved to 3 checkboxes [1]: > - Telemetry collection > - Firefox Studies > - Crash reporter > > By merging opt-in telemetry to opt-out. We currently have 3 checkboxes (and > don't support Studies): > - Telemetry collection > - Health report > - Crash reporter > > Health report doesn't really exist anymore so the strings are misleading > (bug 1244313) but if desktop has removed it, I think we should remove it too. Note that merging the two has engineering work dependencies. In bug 1406390 we addressed these for desktop, but the Fennec situation is a bit different and would need some investigation first. The general idea on Desktop is to just have one main data collection option, then collect less data on the release channel (the previous "opt-out") and more data on the prerelease channel (the previous "opt-in"). For that the previous "health report" button became the "allow data upload" button. The previous "telemetry" button is now removed as this is implicit depending on the release channel you are on.
