I've been struggling with Thunderbird, trying to make folders work. My server
uses mbox, which causes all kinds of hell with folders. Apparently a folder is
only allowed to have a subfolder if you append a slash to its name - in which
case it's no longer allowed to have actual messages stored in it. What's more,
there's a magic setting in the "Advanced" bit of server settings that configures
Thunderbird to cope with this.

Well, fine, but now I can't delete folders. At least, I can't delete my "magic"
folders. Or to be precise, it seems I *have* deleted them, but Thunderbird
can't figure that out. The folders I created persistently exist. The first
time I deleted them, they went away, but as soon as I restarted Thunderbird they
came back. I tried unsubscribing from them, but they still appear in my list.
There doesn't appear to be any way to get rid of them.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a

(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
