It would be nice to show favicons and/or thumbnails in Fennec's Remote Tabs panel. This is motivated by our contextual hints/help discussion, which surfaced that users like visuals. However, this could be tricky, since there are performance and privacy issues.
rnewman, I recall that you had thoughts about loading favicons for cases like this.
ibarlow, how would you feel about making remote tabs more visual and less text heavy? We could try to make remote tabs look like local tabs as a first cut.

I like the idea of having a more visual list.
However, we don't have the remote tab thumbnail, unless it was loaded locally. Favicons and thumbnails aren't synced. We do have the favicon URI for the tab, though.
My only worry with doing this is that we'll have ~no thumbnails in a list of grey rectangles, with a sprinkling of favicons up-front for pages we've visited, then a stream of favicons arriving later.
If we want to really do this beautifully, we'd need to extend the tabs format, which is a big ball of wax, or pre-fetch those pages.

Desktop does a good job of dynamically going and fetching thumbnails if it doesn't have one. We can do that... (I still kinda want to just use their implementation).
