100623 - images do not appear in Mail Messages received (IMAP)

Steps:
1. Launch the browser
2. Open mail window
3. Send a mail message with a .gif image, and cc: yourself

Results: We I recieve the mail message, there is no .gif image. However, the
image shows up in the mail message in my Sent folder (e.g. I know I sen it
out!). Also, I notice a flash of  box, where the image should be . . . wierd.

The problem may be with how he's adding images to the message. Looking at the
view source of the latest PDT meeting there is no image in the message. I have
other messages with images in them and they are rendering fine using yesterdays
bits.

Manually attaching image files to the compose window by clicking File --> Attach
file is working for me. 

Dragging the image from my desktop into the compose window is working for me. 

Jaime, how are you adding the images to your compose window?

Insetr image is not working for ME. I tried it, as a workaround to D&D, but it
did not work. Any way, we can get some more testing on this?

I just saw this on a release build from today. I got an email message with 10
jpgs attached to it. We didn't show any of them inline. Just the separators.
Then I took a branch DEBUG build from tonight. Ran through the same thing and it
displays the images just fine. 

DEBUG commercial branch build: works fine for me
release trunk build: shows the problem for some messages.

This occurs only for IMAP, message receive through POP display correctly images.

That's right Seth. I tried the same message on today's branch and it works. I 
also tested this on the 2001-09-17-05 trunk build not just todays and it was 
already broken there.  17th is the oldest trunk build I have.

checked into the trunk, so that's consistent. Patch coming up.

removing the plus again. Turns out the problem that david and JF are seeing is
trunk only. No branch changes required. 

We're still not sure why Jaime is unable to send out image icons in his PDT
report. I was able to successfully add images to my mail using a branch build
from Friday.

I even tried using a new message, from scratch, as opposed to just appending
(i.e. Edit Message) the mail message previously sent.

Images attached or inserted display fine, tried various images.
All display fine with mac OS 10.1, linux rh6.2, win98
