On Flatfish I can unlock the device by swiping my finger left or right pretty well anywhere in the unlock quadrant of the lockscreen. Frankly, given that my hands are typically on the sides of the tablet rather than middle, I'm ok with this behavior. But the higher-ups tell me it's a bug and, alas, a man's got to eat. Take your time. No need to rush.

Not sure why this is a bug, could you provide more about the current situation and what it should be like? Tried the latest gaia and it works well, we can only unlock the device by swiping right on the unlock handle. Latest commit log of gaia: commit acfcbfcd6b33ccaa8c20e59fe33a8dbcc01fa9a1 Merge: d9874b2 763f826 Author: gasolin <gasolin@gmail.com> Date: Fri May 30 11:03:39 2014 +0800 Merge pull request #19745 from gasolin/issue-1017435 Bug 1017435 - [window] typo and jshint fix for app_modal_dialog, r=alive

I think it was a bug because it was unintended and unexpected behavior. I am now on a more recent 2.0 build and the behavior is now back to normal, requiring the finger to hit the target and slide it. Flatfish is aiming at 2.0, so I'm closing this (unless there are objections).
