User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.15) Gecko/20101101 Fedora/2.0.10-1.fc12 SeaMonkey/2.0.10 (Nightly/Aurora) Build ID: 20101101110129 Steps to reproduce: Brought up the Address book and tried looking up someones name. running version 2.25 at work which we upgraded from version 2.17. When trying to query an email address we receive the following errors: I created another ID and tried importing the certificates in a different order, but still received the following: Error: dir.server:636 uses in invalid certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is not trusted. (Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer). I tested it with Thunderbird and it worked fine. Is this a bug with SM 2.25? Are their other troubleshooting steps I can perform? Thank You. Actual results: Error: An error occurred during a connection to dir.server:636. SSL received a malformed Certificate Request handshake message. (Error code: ssl_error_rx_malformed_cert_request) Expected results: It should have come back with a list of names that had a last name of xxxxx
> I tested it with Thunderbird and it worked fine. Did you test with Thunderbird 28 (equivalent to SeaMonkey 2.25)?
Component: General → MailNews: Address Book & Contacts
Summary: directory server ldap & pki → LDAP Addressbook query fails with sec_error_untrusted_issuer OR ssl_error_rx_malformed_cert_request
Philip: Yes, I updated to the latest version of Firefox, Thunderbird, and Seamonkey all at the same time. Leslie Hartman
Are you going through a proxy? Check your proxy settings. Try going direct instead of via a proxy.
From Bug 978006 comment 3: > It's because of Kaspersky Internet Security 2013. > To solve this just disable parental Control in KIS 2013 Do you have some sort of Firewall or antivirus or network scanner running?
I'll double check the proxy. No there is not a Firewall or antivirus or network scanner running.
No there is no proxy enabled.
I have the same problem with Thunderbird 24.6.0. If using an LDAP Directory (with Davmail and SSL) Thunderbird does't ask for adding a certificate exception. I don't have the domain for my certificate yet, so i always get one and can't use LDAP Addressbook. The Problem is, there is no adding a certificate exception dialog with ldap directory. I hope this confirms the bug.
We are not using Davmail though. Since this worked with older versions of Thunderbird, we'll it work with new versions? Thank You.
