Filed as a follow-up to bug 1008844.
I haven't had a chance to look into this myself, so I'm not sure the best way to fix this, but it will involve looking at aboutAddons.js.

To reproduce, you should follow the steps in bug 1008844.
Whiteboard: [mentor=margaret][lang=js]
Mentor: margaret.leibovic
Whiteboard: [mentor=margaret][lang=js] → [lang=js]
I'm not able to reproduce this issue on all branches.
After you tap the disable button, the addon is greyed out. 
Devices: LG Nexus 4 (Android 4.4.2) and Motorola Raz (Android 4.0.4)
