We need to communicate with 2 constituencies about the changes proposed by bug 1011209: 1) API key holders. They're going to lose their current API keys and will need to use a new API key. They may not have the same access they had before. 2) All users. They're going to be interested in this, particularly in the FAQ and in the fact that they can get an API key easily.
Communications about the new APIv2 and phasing out of APIv1 went out today on all APIv1 key holders, yammer and lists.
