Win 98 using the shipping version of N6.1 on Windows 98, printing to a network printer. Reproduce: + Select Print from File menu or click print button. + Win 98 Print Dialog box pops up, click OK Expected results: + printer icon appears in tray + page gets printed Actual results: + nothing happens: Print dialog disappears, but no print icon or any action by printer. Note, other applications (like Word) can still print.
I can print fine on 6.1RTM I think you need to have your printer driver installed...Sol had a similar problem...see bug 91307 after Sol had his printer driver re-installed, it worked fine for him.
Esther, I learned from reading bug 91307 that you managed to replace Sol's print driver with a different one and by doing that, everything seemed to work. Would like to know what you did so I can: + get printing on my system to work. + possibly see if this is a problem with the drivers our internal computing folks use - thsi problem began when I recently reformatted my hard disk and installed Win 98. + see if this might be a common occurance for other users and/or enterprises that we should fix. Separately, I checked to see if this was a cache problem, but I still had the problem after clearing all of my memory and disk cache.
