STR: 1. Goto homescreen in FxOS 2.0. 2. Longpress in background. 3. Swipe in background. Actual results: - context menu items appear mostly offscreen. - swiping moves the icons in the background.

Here is a reduced test case of an application which exhibits this behavior. Possibly a platform bug.

This is mostly a dupe of bug 973096. Will be fixed by bug 918288. If absolutely necessary I think it's possible to put a hack into the edge swipe detector to avoid this problem (but I haven't tried it).

From bug 1033590 In 1.4, we weren't able to move from a panel to another while the context menu was displayed, but we are with Smart Collections. Same thing with 1.3.

Duping this to bug 973096 which was filed earlier and has the same root cause. I have a patch on that bug that fixes this issue.
