Failure pattern says the disk should be bad.

eventvwr shows drive errors however it's not pin pointing to if it's surface errors or IO errors. performing a quick disk scan and Western Digital's Quick Test shows no errors. rebooted host and running WD's Extended Test.
Whiteboard: running diagnostics
manufacturer's diagnostics couldn't find any disk errors after an extended test. reimaged host and host booted up fine with no errors detected during POST or logged by eventvwr. please reenable and let me know if issues persist and i'll go ahead and file an RMA with the vendor.

looks like reimaging for xp is fixed. host is back online.
