well this occurs while running a 094+ profile from previous builds bugs that get
filed occur because of this. I installed mozilla into
mozilla.org/2001092803/mozilla with a profile called 2001092803 and guess what,
a bug that I filed and troubleshoot was caused because of the above, but didn't
occur as a bug in build 2001092803 itself - this is a residual, same directory,
same profile bug issue, a lot bugs happen this way.

upon loading this build and enabling quick launch, Exit Mozilla, startup a
different build, quick launch doesn't display icons in systray. doesn't stay in
systray. Once loading new build and going to advanced properties->enable quick
launch click ok, icon appears but then will not work after exiting and starting
a different build. changing it in one build affects another build, windows
registry problems here? or no?

reporter,
The user can specify the name of directory for the install- build id or other
scheme.
I am not clear on what the rest of bug says. QuickLaunch issues should be
another bug perhaps?

I was thinking that this would be a feature that would help further bug reports
that related to not using the most recent nightly/milestone and using the same
directory and profile that the installer doesn't get rid of old files that stay
after from older builds. May users do not also uninstall Mozilla before
reinstalling a new one. So I thought this may help keep residual side effect
bugs off the radar. For Dev perposes really.
Quick launch (i believe I remember seeing another bug related to quick lauch and
multiple profile preferences) I think maybe has been fixed.

forgot to add that mozillainstaller -autocreate clean dir/profile based on
buildid is what this boils down to.
