Steps to reproduce:

Attempted to send mail via SMTP to a Postfix daemon using STARTTLS. This was working, but seems to have broken in the Earlybird nightlies (32.0a2) between 6-09-14 and 6-10-14.  (It works in the nightly from 6-09-14, but is broken from 6-10-14 onward).


Actual results:

Received error:

Send Message Error

Sending of message failed.
The message could not be sent using SMTP server example.org for an unknown reason. Please verify that your SMTP server settings are correct and try again, or contact your network administrator.


Expected results:

Expected the mail to have been sent.

Additional information:

- The Postfix server I'm trying to connect to is Postfix version 2.9.6-2 running on Debian 7.5 x86_64 (3.2.57-3+deb7u1 x86_64)

- Nothing had been changed or updated on the server system when this started occurring. It was immediately after the new nightly for 6-10-14 was released.

I'd be happy to look into logs or other locations to help troubleshoot this.

Moving to Networking: SMTP, but this looks like it may need to move to some Core or NSS component unless it's a configuration issue somewhere.
