May be because I am doing this as a reviewer and doesn't have permission. go to the stats of any app select the region Get a message that data is restricted or no data found. Can we display to reviewers or other groups as the BD team gets this question from their partners?

This works for me. For example, compare: https://marketplace-dev.allizom.org/statistics/app/twitter/installs/?start=2014-05-23&end=2014-06-22®ion=ve and https://marketplace-dev.allizom.org/statistics/app/twitter/installs/?start=2014-05-23&end=2014-06-22 Is this about the messaging, no distinction between access to the data vs no data? If so we can probably make that message a bit smarter.

what I am seeing. see attachment. What I would like to see is the marketplace-dev in the example you gave. Is this a permission issue (I don't have permission)?

(In reply to David Bialer [:dbialer] from comment #2) > Is this a permission issue (I don't have permission)? Your user should have the Stats:View permission. If you open the network monitor you can see if the API call results in a 403 (not authorized) or a 200 (no data).

I am getting a 200 - which is odd since there is plenty of data in the "all regions" view but no data in any of the regions view.

Similar to bug 1027872, this looks like a case of bad query parameters after switching to universal analytics. Once updated we should be able to backfill this data.

Passing to Davor to research that the 'dimension11' (region) is being set correctly.

I took a look at the Custom Dimension list that is available within the GA Admin and noticed that custom dimension 11 was set to 'Inactive'. I've since activated this and also set it to a session level dimension. Can you verify that you are now collecting data? One thing to note if we want to capture additional data within a new custom dimension, it has to be activated within the GA admin.

It looks like data is starting to populate in GA for this custom dimension now...
I still seem to be getting this error when looking at the stats for Notes+ (e.g. https://marketplace.firefox.com/statistics/app/notesplus/installs/?start=2014-07-04&end=2014-08-03®ion=ar)

Unfortunately we won't have data prior to this for our stats but going forward this looks good. Thanks Gareth.

Robhudson, Gareth...dbialer's comment above is still valid "all regions" has data but all individual regions come back with 0s. This is both on per-app stats and global.

Here's a query that i used to generate Marketplace region by App Installs from Google Query Explorer: http://ga-dev-tools.appspot.com/explorer/?dimensions=ga%253Adimension11%252Cga%253AeventLabel&metrics=ga%253AtotalEvents&filters=ga%253AeventCategory%253D%253DSuccessful%2520app%2520install&sort=-ga%253AtotalEvents&start-date=2014-07-18&end-date=2014-08-13&max-results=2000 Let me know if that helps. I disabled the region toggle in the install charts for now while we wait to gather data. The unfortunate thing is we'll need to sit on this bug for a month until we have the default 30 days available.

There was also this, which reverts the removal of the region selection: https://github.com/mozilla/marketplace-stats/commit/3c09b634

At Rob's suggestion, we verified this by comparing https://marketplace-dev.allizom.org/statistics/app/12-games-in-1/installs/?start=2014-10-01&end=2014-10-06 with results from GA(https://www.dropbox.com/s/9zpgc7a6rr6k7xn/Screenshot%202014-10-07%2007.51.20.png?dl=0) and everything is working as expected. Verified as fixed
