Visual design has indicated that any instance of a transparent status bar is a blocker for the 2.0 visual refresh, so noming this accordingly.

Not a duplicate.  The original bug was fixed, this bug still exists in today's build.

Let's go with bug 1027990 as it has already been r+'ed by Alive and I just attached the necessary style/ bits for the UI to cover the whole screen.

That was for the black overlay.  This is for the white overlay following for adding a link.  This might be covered in bug 1038326.
